Sweet Muskoka

Sweet Muskoka is a small, local maple syrup operation making syrup close to Huntsville. When you visit Sweet Muskoka, located in the Sugar Chack behind The Antler Steakhouse at Deerhurst Resort:

  • Talk to Brian the sugar maker and find out how sap is collected, processed and what products are made from maple
  • See early artifacts used in collecting and making maple syrup
  • See maple syrup being boiled in the evaporator
  • Sample fresh, hot syrup
  • Try traditional taffy on snow
  • Purchase fresh maple syrup and maple sugar
  • Snowshoe or walk through the sugar bush to a lookout over Pen & Fairy Lake
  • Try a delicious maple-based meal which Deerhurst Resort offers over the maple season
  • Visit Stoneligh Farms at Deerhurst Resort for a sleigh or pony ride as well as the opportunity to enjoy a petting farm

Visit the Sugarbush: Generally open most days throughout the syrup season (mid March to mid April), particularly on those days when the sap is flowing (cold nights / warm days) from 12 – 4pm. Best to call ahead before heading out; 705-789-9098 or 705-571-7066.
